The long awaited arrest warrant of Bashir is due to be released tomorrow afternoon. Some Sudan "experts" forsee a bigger Sudanese crises, the disintegration of the Sudanese state. Andrew Natsios, former US envoy to Sudan is worried about a Somali-like situation with an Afghanistan-like intervention.
African and Arab leaders are standing together against the ICC's decision. When the arrest warrant is issued, they are going to be very silent. Bashir's party is already divided. Most of his advisors asked him to step down. He wouldn't.
Let's see what's going to happen

Nothing is going to happen.
Kizzie,
Now that he has been officially charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity by the ICC (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/05/world/africa/05court.html?_r=1&hp), I am also very interested to see the reaction within Sudan and the party.

Oh yeah, something is going to happen all right. I watched the proceedings from the ICC in The Hague LIVE today in realtime, 1300 hrs. GMT. I watched it on the German news, the French news, CNN International, BBC World News, Aljazeera-English news... I wanted to make sure that it was really happening and not a false alarm.
I left a comment about the criminal indictment of Omar al-Bashir over at Drima's place so you may want to check it out.
Sudan's President Omar al-Bahsir is going down to The Hague to stand trial for 5 counts of crimes against humanity and 2 counts of war crimes. By the time the authorities arrest him or he (surprisingly) turns himself in to the International Criminal Court as Slobodan Milosevic did for the ICTY, the genocide charges will be added too. Omar is gone.
I'm really worried about Sudan...I really hope all those speculations about disintegration and chaos don't happen.

I wish the Arab world would be as angry about what is going on in Sudan as they are about Israel. That is not to take away from the plight of the Palestinians at all, but to hope for a cry to for justice to not be limited by ethnicity.
This article simply ROCKS ! That was a great read for me. keep it up with all the good work..
