"Sudan is not really a country at all, but many.
A composite layers, like a genetic fingerprint of memories that were once fluid, but have since crystallized out from the crucible of possibility"
Jamal Mahjoub, a Sudanese novelist
Hiya, I just wanted to say that your blog is a refreshing read and your cousin's dress is adorable.
I just started writing a series of articles that focus on women - issues and accomplishments - and randomed across your blog which was linked to a guest post about FGM on another blog.
Have you read Halima Bashir's book, Tears of the Desert? I think that's what really inspired me to write more about women around the world. She's from Sudan as well.
Anyway, I'm rambling on. I just thought I'd leave a note since I read a few entries.
I have't read it. I didn't know about it actually. I'm going to get it. Thanks for telling me about it. I love reading female perspectives from all over the world and I also love reading every single book written on Sudan or by a Sudanese:)
