Poetry from South Africa

I waited for you last night

I waited for your last night
I lay there in my bed
like a plucked rose
its falling petals my tears

the sound that my room
inhaled
drew in softly
swallowed
in my ears
was the tapping on the window

getting up
I opened it
and a moth flew in
powdering my neck
shrugging
I caught its tiny wings
and kissed it
I climbed back into bed
with it
and left it to flutter around my head

I waited for you last night

Hello there,
did you say tanzeer? Dana we are going to be good friends!
I know what you are talking about!
They feel obliged to say their opinion although they are not, I swear I will be perfectly happy with my life if they didnt comment on every tiny thing I do.
lakeen nagool shino, sudanese people are shamshareen but they are the sweetest people ever!:)
thanks 4 ur comment:)

shaklik kida u have also suffered a great deal from the great sudanese tanzeer philosophy lol. yes we are shamshareen, but thank god we are sweet like u said. I remember watching a documentary called the Mysteries of the Nile (a must see) the team went rafting in the nile visiting Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt and when they were in Sudan they noted the rich culture and history of the country and the wonderful nature and great hospitality of the people of sudan. That made me feel so proud 2 be a sudaniya :)
